Q:
How do I know what the version of LPR? What is the difference between them?
A:
Jump to Configuration→System→Maintenance→System Maintenance and Check Software Version. Takes 45.8.0.1-LPR_EU-r1 as an example, LPR_EU is the version of LPR for this camera. Possible LPR versions are LPR1, LPR2, LPR3, LPR4, LPR_EU, LPR_AM, LPR_ME and LPR_AP.

Q:
What is recommended installation for AI LPR camera?
A:
* The horizontal and vertical offset angles need to be less than 30°. And the rotation tilt angle needs to be less than 5°. At the same time, adjust the appropriate focal length to ensure that the license plate will not be too large or too small in the frame.

Q:
What’s the meaning of "4" at the beginning of the LPR image file name? Could it be removed?
A:
To distinguish between plate snapshot and full image, there will be a “4” at the beginning of full image file name. It cannot be removed. If you think it will affect your identification of plate number or time, you can jump to LPR→Settings→Advanced to adjust the file name sorting.
Q:
As a simple front-end solution, does LPR camera always need an SD Card to work? How does the camera work without an SD card?
A:
License Plate Recognition, Black and White List Event, Live View Result Display and Back-end Post can all be performed without an SD card. However, without an SD card, the camera will not record any snapshot or video. Therefore, you cannot search or export LPR logs with images and videos but only text information. And it can store up to 10,000 text LPR logs.
Q:
What protocol does Milesight AI LPR Camera support to transfer data to back-end software?
A:
TCP, HTTP Get Method, HTTP Post Method and Metadata via RTSP. For more information on compatibility, please refer to 42.Milesight-Troubleshooting-Integration between LPR Camera and NVR(VMS).
Q:
What is the maximum number of license plate lists that can be stored on the camera, NVR and VMS? Are they related to each other?
A:
Up to 1,000 license plate lists can be stored on Camera side. Up to 10,000 license plate lists can be stored on NVR and VMS side. They are not related to each other. If you want to synchronize them, you can use their import and export function.
