1. P2P

A peer-to-peer (P2P) network is a type of decentralized and distributednetwork architecture in which individual nodes in the network (called "peers") act as both suppliers and consumers of resources, in contrast to centralized client–server model where client nodes request access to resources provided by central servers. Networks in which all computers have equal status are called peer-to-peer or P2P networks.

In a peer-to-peer network, tasks (such as searching for files or streaming audio/video) are shared amongst multiple interconnected peers who each make a portion of their resources (such as processing powerdisk storage or network bandwidth) directly available to other network participants, without the need for centralized coordination by servers.

With the introduction of P2P on NVR, you can watch the NVR live view from WLAN without doing any port forwarding on the router, it’s much easier to add the NVR to APP from remote.

2. How to Use P2P on M-VMS

You can use P2P freely on Milesight NVR after the following settings(It is different with Camera in this part, you can enable the P2P function by yourself and do not need to contact with Milesight to activate once again.):

2.1 Settings on NVR

Before you using the P2P, you need to enable P2P on NVR:

Way 1: Enable on the monitor

Right click on the live view and choose“Menu”->“System”->“Network”->“P2P”, you will see the image like the below:

1. Choose“Enable”from the drop-down list of“P2P”;

2. Fill in your Company Name or your Individual Name in the“Company Name”;

3. Fill in your Email address in the“Email”for activation;

4. Apply the settings.

Way 2: Enable on the web

Details are as monitors.

Note:

P2P is a WLAN-required function, so you need to make sure that the networks of Default Gateway and Preferred DNS Server are available.

2.2 Settings on M-VMS

Step 1: Open the M-VMS, and click on these icons to add device:-> -> ;

Way 2: Automatically input by scanning bar code after touching area ②;

Step 4: Input the NVR name, the user name and the password to finish adding device.

2.3 Device management

After having added the NVR by P2P, you can manage the NVR by touching ”Device Manager”. If you want to view the live image of your NVR, touch the “Device Name; If you want to edit the NVR, touch the”Information” icon;
